Pharmacy

The hospital Pharmacy manages all medications used in all hospital departments and settings. The pharmacy and other hospital committees are responsible for planning for medication use, selection and procurement, storage, ordering, preparing and dispensing, monitoring and evaluation.

The Pharmacist works in conjunction with physicians and nurses to provide the appropriate medication to the patient at the time and interval specified by the physician.

The Pharmacy complies with all rules and regulations as directed by the Food and Drug Administration, the DEA, the Alabama Board of Pharmacy and the Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Health Care Facilities.
