Nursing
Nursing care is provided in seven (7) areas of the hospital. There are three In-Patient Units (Medical Surgical, Intensive Care and Obstetrics), three Outpatient Units (Operating, Emergency and Outpatient Clinic), and Radiology.
The Radiology department has full time RN's that manage and assist with procedures. 86 percent of licensed nursing staff at D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital are registered nurses.
Nursing Education
A large number of CEU classes are available at no cost for nursing employees.
All American Heart Certification Courses (ACLS, PALS and BLS) are taught three to four times each year.
Scholarship Program
In coordination with Coastal Alabama Community College, D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital works to provide scholarships to nursing students with a focus on healthcare education. Applications are taken every January.
