BREWTON, AL - D.W. McMillan Home Medical Equipment is pleased to announce that it has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval® by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal of Approval® is a symbol of quality that reflects an organization's commitment to providing safe and effective patient care.

"We're very pleased to receive accreditation from the Joint Commission, the premier healthcare quality improvement and accrediting body in the nation," said Rick Owens, Chief Financial Officer. "Without the hard work and focus on quality by of our team, this would not have been possible. Our staff continues to work together to strengthen the continuum of care and to deliver and maintain optimal home medical equipment services for those in our community. I cannot thank our team enough for the wonderful job they do, which is evident by our reaccreditation by The Joint Commission."

D.W. McMillan Home Medical Equipment underwent a rigorous on-site survey in August 2015. During the survey, compliance with standards reflecting key organizational areas were evaluated, including the provision of care, treatment and services, emergency management, human resources, individual rights and responsibilities, and leadership. The accreditation process also provided D.W. McMillan Home Medical Equipment with education and guidance to help staff continue to improve its home medical equipment program's performance.
