D.W. McMillan 6th Annual Relay for Life 5K a Success

BREWTON, AL - There were 107 participants lined up on Saturday, March 1 to be the winner of D.W. McMillan's 6th Annual Relay for Life 5K Run/Walk. Rob Stokes was the overall male winner, while Karisa Nelson was the overall female winner.
Rob Stokes was the race winner with a time of 18:35, Derek Blackmon finished second with a time of 18:58. Winning the female overall trophy was Karisa Nelson with a time of 19:55 and second place was Ashley Bunnell with a time of 22:52.
Winners were also awarded for finishing top of each age category as follows:
14 & Younger - Tucker McDaniel at 22:57
15-19 - Shawn Lucas and Kayla Hoomes at 35:01
20-29 -Derek Blackmon at 18:58
30-39 - Kevin Bell at 23:32
40-49 - Doug Darby at 21:30
50-59 - Jim McMorris at 24:48
60-69 - Joann Dubose at 46:15
70-79 - Doris Morris at 55:54
80 & Older - Robert Hayes at 50:57
In total, the 6th Annual D.W. McMillan Relay for Life 5K Run/Walk raised $3500 toward the Escambia County Relay for Life. The event was sponsored by 19 business and groups in the Brewton area who made the event possible.
