Brewton, AL - D. W. McMillan Memorial Hospital renovates cafeteria and food menus. Joel Bell, food services director leads team credited with turnaround.

"The food services team has done an outstanding job learning new menus while upgrading the cafeteria services and environment," said Chris Griffin, hospital administrator. "We are very pleased with the progress our team has made since partnering with HHS, our new food services partner."

In August 2014, D. W. McMillan and HHS partnered to bring new equipment, enhanced service programs, a cafeteria renovation and new management leadership. The HHS solutions to improve hospital operations in the areas of efficiency and cost, with a primary focus on creating positive healthcare experience for the hospital's patients have been positive.

"We hope everyone will be as happy with the changes as we are," said Joel Bell, food services director. "The team has put in a lot of hard work and extra hours learning and practicing to enhance the quality of care at the hospital."

The hospital cafeteria is open for breakfast Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. and open again for lunch from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. If you get there late, the Cafeteria Grill is open from 11:00 until 6:00 p.m. The public is welcome to come and try the new menu items anytime.

The hospital also provides special diet meals for a number of community members for weight loss, diabetic, low sodium, low cholesterol and renal. If you are interested, please contact the food service director or registered dietician to discuss the program at 251-809-8373.
